EPI
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
To measure the success of the EPI program, to reduce morbidity and mortality by providing immunization against EPI diseases for all children in the first five years of life and for all women of child-bearing age, based on available programmatic data. To evaluate the success of the program against standards set and to identify possible gaps for improvement through data management.
Description of duties:
The work environment is primarily office-based work, with occasional field work to provide technical assistance and conduct data management training at regional level. The role of the individual is to serve as a data focal person under the direction of the EPI Team Leader. He/she is responsible to manage all programmatic data. He/she serves to liaise with the Federal Ministry of Health and Laboratory with the aim to harmonize programmatic data.
1- Manage and analyse EPI related data including case-based surveillance and routine immunization
2- Support FMOH and EHNRI/Laboratory on data management including data harmonization;
3- Provide timely information and feedback on EPI and related programs to all stakeholders
4- Conduct on-job data management training at national and regional level
5- Share programmatic data with AFRO and ICP
6- Support NPEC and NCC in accomplishing their duties in polio eradication effort.
7- Perform other relevant duties as and when assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Essential: Bachelor degree in Information System/Computer Science or Statistics.
Desirable: Knowledge in Database Management System

Technical expertise in data management, Information system, and statistics; ability to train others; basic knowledge of EPI and health related activities.
Programming knowledge with sound mapping and data analysis skills.

Experience:
Essential: A minimum of two years' work experience in Data Management with emphasis in EPI or other child health programs
Desirable: Experience working for UN system.
Languages:
Excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English. Knowledge of other UN languages would be an advantage.
Additional Information:
Duty Station - Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Annual remuneration: USD 17,063 Payable in ETB.
